The poll atlanto-occipital joint is a focal hub of nerve activity and muscular insertion points. Rigid headpieces can lead to head-tossing and poll resistance when the horse flexes. The Freedom Headpiece integrates a specialized elastic insert that stretches dynamically, accommodating the expansion of the throat muscles during collection and chewing. 💡 Pro-Tip: When fitting the headpiece, check that the throatlash is adjusted loosely. You should be able to fit 3 to 4 fingers vertically between the throatlash strap and the horse's cheek to ensure comfortable breathing and throat extension.
