Broad nosebands offer significant mechanical advantages by distributing pressure over a larger surface area on the horse's nasal bone. The flat 2-inch design avoids concentrating down-force onto a thin strip of the nose, protecting the delicate nasal bone and preventing pressure-induced head tossing. It sits securely on the flat of the cheek, avoiding compression of the facial nerves and blood vessels.

💡 Pro-Tip: Fit the noseband so it rests approximately two finger-widths below the horse's cheekbone (zygomatic ridge). Avoid over-tightening traditional flat cavessons; you should be able to slide two fingers flat easily under the noseband at the front of the nose.
